The Heineken Pickleball World Cup 2026 is set to be a landmark event, taking place in Da Nang, Vietnam, from August 30 to September 6. With nearly 5,000 athletes expected to participate and around 50,000 spectators anticipated, this tournament will be the largest of its kind ever held in Asia. It coincides with Vietnam's National Day celebrations, making it a significant occasion for both the sport and the country.
This prestigious tournament will feature international players such as Jay Devilliers from France, Roos Van Reek from the Netherlands, and several top athletes from the United States, Australia, and India. Notable Vietnamese representatives include Do Minh Quan, Phuc Huynh, and Trang Huynh, among others. The event is expected to provide an excellent opportunity for local players to compete and engage with the global pickleball community right on their home turf.
During the recent draw ceremony, Tran Phuoc Son, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Council and President of the Da Nang Pickleball Federation, emphasized that the Heineken Pickleball World Cup 2026 would foster connections between local and international pickleball communities. He noted that Heineken's sponsorship plays a crucial role in enhancing the tournament's scale and appeal, while also facilitating greater connections between Da Nang and the international sports community.
In addition to the competitive matches, the Heineken Pickleball World Cup 2026 will be organized as a sports festival. Spectators will have the chance to watch matches featuring athletes from various countries and participate in interactive activities throughout the event. The large number of international athletes and spectators is expected to create a vibrant meeting point for pickleball enthusiasts, allowing them to share experiences and expand their networks.
To prepare for this significant event, the Da Nang People's Committee has established an organizing committee along with specialized subcommittees to ensure that the tournament meets international standards. The draw for the national Open category has already been announced, marking a crucial step in the preparations leading up to the tournament.
