Near 7kg Pangolin Found on Rural Road in Nghe An

On August 17, 2026, the Nghe An Provincial Police reported the discovery of a nearly 7kg pangolin on a rural road in the Ngũ Lộc neighborhood of Vinh Lộc ward. The pangolin was found during a routine patrol by the Mobile Police Department at around 8:15 PM on August 14.

Upon discovering the pangolin, the police team took immediate action to safeguard the animal and notified relevant authorities for further assistance. Recognized as an endangered species, the pangolin was promptly handed over to the local government on August 15 for proper care and rehabilitation.

The Vinh Lộc ward authorities then coordinated with the Public Service Center to transport the pangolin to Pù Mát National Park, where it will receive further care and monitoring. This timely intervention highlights the importance of wildlife protection and biodiversity conservation efforts.

Authorities encourage the public to report sightings of wild animals, especially those that are endangered, and to refrain from hunting, trading, or illegally keeping such species. This incident underscores the collective responsibility to protect wildlife and maintain ecological balance.
