Pork Prices Continue to Decline in Vietnam

The pork market in Vietnam is experiencing a significant downturn, with prices on August 14, 2026, ranging from 57,000 to 59,000 VND per kilogram. This decline is evident across various regions, impacting both farmers and consumers alike.

Pork Prices by Region

In northern Vietnam, prices have dropped to between 57,000 and 58,000 VND per kilogram. Notably, four provinces, including Tuyen Quang, have seen a reduction of 1,000 VND per kilogram, bringing their prices down to 57,000 VND.

In the central region, pork prices also range from 57,000 to 58,000 VND per kilogram. Provinces such as Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Dak Lak, and Khanh Hoa are reporting prices at the lower end of this spectrum.

Meanwhile, in southern Vietnam, prices are slightly higher, fluctuating between 57,000 and 59,000 VND per kilogram. Areas like Tay Ninh and Can Tho have seen a decrease to 57,000 VND, while Dong Nai is at 59,000 VND. Other cities, including Vinh Long and Ho Chi Minh City, are reporting prices around 58,000 VND.

Market Trends

This ongoing decline in pork prices is concerning for many stakeholders in the agricultural sector. Farmers are facing challenges as the prices continue to drop, affecting their livelihoods. Consumers, on the other hand, may benefit from lower prices at the market, but the overall economic implications remain to be seen.

As the situation develops, it will be crucial for both producers and consumers to monitor the market closely. The government may need to intervene to stabilize prices and support local farmers during this challenging period.
