Vingroup, a leading Vietnamese conglomerate, has revealed its ambitious plans for the Hùng Vương International Sports Complex, which will span over 400 hectares in southern Hanoi. This complex is set to become a premier destination for international sports and cultural events, with the VinFast - Trống Đồng Stadium at its heart.

The VinFast - Trống Đồng Stadium will feature a seating capacity of 135,000, making it the largest stadium globally. It will also boast a retractable roof and is designed to meet FIFA standards, incorporating artificial intelligence and prioritizing green technology. The stadium is expected to be completed by July 2027 and will host various international sporting and cultural events.

Surrounding the stadium will be a wide array of sports facilities, including an Olympic stadium with a capacity of 40,000 seats, a 12,000-seat indoor sports arena, and a 10,000-seat aquatic center for swimming and water sports. Additionally, the complex will feature two 18-hole golf courses, numerous tennis and pickleball courts, and extensive cycling paths to cater to both professional athletes and the general public.

The Hùng Vương International Sports Complex will also include essential amenities such as hotels, shopping centers, hospitals, parks, and cultural venues to enhance the experience for athletes and fans visiting Hanoi. The project is expected to significantly contribute to the economic growth of southern Hanoi and establish a new cultural and sports hub in Asia.

As of now, approximately 32.7% of the project area has been handed over to the investor, with ongoing efforts to ensure smooth land clearance and development. Vingroup commenced this project late last year, with an estimated total investment of around 925 trillion VND, covering approximately 9,171 hectares across 11 districts in Hanoi.
