World-Class Stadium Renamed to VinFast

A new landmark in Hanoi's international sports complex is set to be named VinFast, as announced by Vinhomes on July 30, 2023. The stadium, which boasts a capacity of 135,000 seats, was previously known by various names including Lạc Việt and Trống Đồng.

Stadium Features and Future Plans

Located in the B area of the international sports complex, which was once the Olympic sports urban area, the VinFast stadium is expected to become the largest stadium in the world upon completion. Construction is scheduled to begin at the end of 2025 on a site covering over 70 hectares, with the stadium anticipated to be operational by July 2027.

According to Vingroup, the VinFast stadium will be among the most advanced green and smart stadiums globally. It will incorporate artificial intelligence technology that allows for the replacement of the playing surface within 6 to 10 hours. Additionally, it will feature smart seating connected to 5G, real-time security management, and crowd control systems.

Innovative water recovery and reuse solutions will enable the stadium to save up to 70% of clean water usage. The design includes natural ventilation systems, materials that resist heat absorption and UV rays, all contributing to a sustainable operational model.

International Sports Complex Development

The international sports complex in Hanoi spans over 9,000 hectares, with a projected investment of more than 925 trillion VND. It aims to meet the requirements for hosting significant events such as the Asian Games (ASIAD) and the Olympics in the future. The project is divided into four main areas: a transit-oriented development (TOD) linked to the Ngọc Hồi station, a sports urban area, a tourism urban area, and a sports complex.

This ambitious project covers 11 districts and wards, including Thanh Liệt, Đại Thanh, Ngọc Hồi, Nam Phù, Thường Tín, Hồng Vân, Chương Dương, Thượng Phúc, Tam Hưng, Thanh Oai, and Dân Hòa.
