Today, more than 300 students at Tuyen Quang High School took the literature exam as part of the retake for the high school graduation examination. The exam began at 7:35 AM and concluded at 9:35 AM. According to reports, the first students exited the school gate around 9:55 AM, despite heavy rain that started around 9:30 AM, causing many parents to wait anxiously in the downpour.

Contrary to the worries of the parents, many students felt confident about their performance. One student mentioned that the exam's difficulty was similar to the first attempt, and while they completed all questions, they were unsure about their score as they had not yet checked the answers. Another student noted that the exam's level of differentiation was comparable to the first, indicating that it was not overly challenging.

Initial evaluations of the retake exam by Nguyen Thi Hen, a former literature teacher, suggested that the exam structure was appropriate for high school students. She anticipated a significant number of scores in the range of 7-8, while scores of 9-10 would be less common. Overall, she believed the exam was well-suited to the students' abilities and aligned with the 2018 national education program.

This afternoon, students will take the math exam, which lasts for 90 minutes. Tomorrow, on August 15, students will sit for two elective subjects, each lasting 50 minutes, with an afternoon session reserved if needed.

The retake of the high school graduation exam for 2026 at Tuyen Quang High School was organized following the cancellation of the initial exam results held on June 11 and 12. The Ministry of Education and Training issued a decision to conduct the retake for students who participated in the original exam at this location. The retake is scheduled for August 14 and 15, with results expected to be announced on August 19.

In a statement on August 12, Lam The Hung, Deputy Director of the Tuyen Quang Department of Education and Training, emphasized that the retake process would adhere strictly to the regulations set for high school graduation exams, just as in the first attempt. A total of 175 personnel have been mobilized to assist with the retake, including 70 individuals responsible for various roles at the exam site.

Additionally, the investigation into the exam cheating scandal at Tuyen Quang has led to the prosecution of 29 individuals connected to the irregularities during the 2026 high school graduation exam. Initial investigations revealed that teachers had prompted answers in exam rooms, and some students had exchanged answers. There appeared to be collusion between parents and teachers, compromising the fairness of the exam results for all students involved. So far, 29 individuals have been prosecuted, with 7 currently in custody.
