On August 8, 2026, the Central Office of the Communist Party of Vietnam released Guideline 18-HD/VPTW, which updates the regulations on the monetary rewards associated with party badges. Among the notable changes, the guideline specifies that members receiving the 95-year party badge will be awarded a cash prize equivalent to 30 times the base salary.

This decision marks the highest reward for any party badge as per the new guidelines. Specifically, the reward for the 35-year party badge is set at 1.8 times the base salary, while the 80-year badge will receive 15 times, the 85-year badge 20 times, and the 90-year badge 25 times the base salary.

The base salary has been officially increased to 2,530,000 VND per month as of July 1, 2026, according to Decree No. 161/2026/NĐ-CP. Consequently, the monetary awards for the party badges are as follows:

• 35-year party badge: 4,554,000 VND
• 80-year party badge: 37,950,000 VND
• 85-year party badge: 50,600,000 VND
• 90-year party badge: 63,250,000 VND
• 95-year party badge: 75,900,000 VND

In terms of funding for these awards, the Central Office of the Communist Party is responsible for issuing certificates, the frames for these certificates, the party badges, and the associated cash rewards. The funding will be provided by the central government budget, as allocated by the competent authorities.

Each year, during the preparation of the state budget for the following year, the Central Organization Committee must submit a document estimating the number of members to be awarded the 80, 85, 90, and 95-year party badges to assist in budget planning. In cases where local party committees are authorized by the Politburo to present these awards, the Central Office will choose the appropriate method to deliver the certificates, badges, and cash rewards to the designated local committees for execution.
