Over 200 Students Undergo Drug Rehabilitation in Hue

On August 11, 2026, Major General Nguyen Thanh Tuan, the Director of Hue City Police, inspected the local drug rehabilitation center where over 200 students have been treated since March 1, 2025. Among them, 78 students have successfully completed their rehabilitation and returned to their communities for further support and management.

The center not only focuses on drug treatment but also provides legal education, life skills training, health care, and vocational training for the students. In collaboration with the Hue City Center for Disease Control, the facility conducts screenings for HIV, hepatitis, and tuberculosis.

Notably, 60 students have been trained in industrial sewing and metalworking, receiving certificates that will aid them in finding employment after completing their rehabilitation. During the inspection, Major General Tuan emphasized the importance of addressing challenges in the rehabilitation process and ensuring safety and security. He also called for enhanced psychological counseling, legal education, career guidance, and vocational training to help students recover and reintegrate into society while reducing the risk of relapse.
