On August 10, the Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony to announce the decision of the Minister of Public Security regarding the appointment of Colonel Trinh Khac Cuong as the new Director of the Lao Cai Provincial Police. Colonel Trinh Khac Cuong, previously the Deputy Director of the Department of Internal Political Security, is set to assume his new role effective August 12, 2026. During the ceremony, the leadership of the Department of Organization announced this decision, highlighting the trust placed in Cuong by the Ministry of Public Security.

In his new position, Colonel Cuong is expected to lead the Lao Cai Provincial Police effectively, ensuring the implementation of the Party's policies and the laws of the state.
