On June 29, 2026, the Hanoi Police Department held a ceremony to announce the promotion of two police chiefs to the rank of Colonel. The ceremony was presided over by Major General Nguyen Thanh Tung, Director of the Hanoi Police, who presented the promotion decisions issued by the Minister of Public Security.

The two officers promoted are Nguyen Anh Tuan, Chief of the Planning Department, and Nguyen Ngoc Me, Chief of the Criminal Enforcement and Judicial Support Police Department. Major General Tung emphasized that this promotion is not only an honor but also a significant responsibility that comes with higher expectations for leadership and service.

In his speech, Major General Tung urged the newly promoted Colonels to continue upholding the proud traditions of the heroic Hanoi Police, remain loyal to the Party, the nation, and the people, and to constantly improve their professional skills and leadership capabilities.
