Authorities in Nghe An province are investigating a fatal traffic accident that took place at Km20+450 on National Highway 1, specifically on the Vinh bypass. The incident resulted in the death of one individual.

Initial reports indicate that a tractor trailer with license plate 37H-166.3x was traveling from south to north when it collided with a motorcycle bearing license plate 38N1-251.6x, which was moving in the same direction. The collision caused two women riding the motorcycle to fall onto the road. Unfortunately, one victim was tragically caught under the tractor trailer and died at the scene. The other woman sustained injuries and was promptly transported to a medical facility for treatment.

The deceased has been identified as Nguyen Thi B., born in 1985, from Nghi Xuan in Ha Tinh province. The accident also left the motorcycle severely damaged, leading to traffic congestion in the area while authorities conducted their investigation and cleared the scene.

According to the road management unit, the road was dry at the time of the accident, and all safety signals and measures in the area were functioning normally. There were no reported damages to the road infrastructure.

Upon receiving the report, the BOT management unit of the Vinh bypass, in collaboration with the Traffic Police Department of Nghe An province, quickly arrived at the scene to manage traffic flow and assist with the investigation.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the authorities in Nghe An province.
