Nguyen Van Dung, the Director of the Bac Ninh Department of Science and Technology, has been officially charged and temporarily detained for investigation related to bribery. On August 4, sources confirmed that the Bac Ninh Provincial Police initiated legal proceedings against Dung under allegations of accepting bribes.
Prior to this development, reports indicated that during the 10th session on July 30, the Central Inspection Committee reviewed a report recommending disciplinary actions against party members violating regulations within the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee. The inspection agency determined that Dung, who is a member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee and the Secretary of the Party Committee at the Department, had shown a decline in political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle.
Furthermore, Dung was found to have violated both party regulations and state laws in the execution of his responsibilities, particularly in relation to anti-corruption efforts and the prevention of waste and negativity. The Central Inspection Committee noted that Dung's actions also breached regulations concerning what party members are prohibited from doing and his responsibility to set a good example.
These violations have had serious consequences, significantly damaging the reputation of the party organization, the locality, and the agency where he works. Given the content, nature, severity, consequences, and causes of the violations, the Central Inspection Committee has recommended that the competent authorities consider disciplinary actions against Nguyen Van Dung.
