This was not Trump's first time in such a situation; he had previously remained on stage during Chelsea's FIFA Club World Cup celebration last year.

Prior to the ceremony, Trump and Infantino watched the match from a bulletproof VIP area, accompanied by U.S. officials and other guests. During the award ceremony, Trump personally handed medals to referees and players.
