FIFA President Gianni Infantino's salary and benefits for the year 2025 are reported to total approximately 6 million USD, which is nearly 157 billion VND. This figure represents a significant 29% increase compared to the previous year, as noted by O Globo. Infantino has been in office for ten years, and his total earnings during this period have surpassed 30 million USD (around 789 billion VND).
This increase in compensation occurs as FIFA's administrative costs are reaching unprecedented levels. For the year 2025, FIFA's operational and administrative expenses are projected to hit 254.3 million USD (approximately 6.686 trillion VND), the highest ever recorded by the organization. Forecasts indicate that these expenses will continue to rise, with FIFA estimating around 905 million USD in administrative costs for the 2023-2026 cycle. Furthermore, the budget for this category is expected to exceed 1 billion USD in the 2027-2030 cycle.
It remains unclear whether Infantino will receive additional payments for maintaining residences in Switzerland and Florida, where FIFA has operational offices. The Swiss football leader was first elected as FIFA President in 2016 for a three-year term and has since been re-elected in 2019 and 2023. He has now completed a decade in this role, overseeing three World Cups, including those in Russia in 2018, Qatar in 2022, and the upcoming 2026 World Cup hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Infantino's decisions, such as expanding the World Cup to 48 teams and maintaining close ties with global leaders like Russian President Vladimir Putin and former U.S. President Donald Trump, have drawn criticism from fans. Nevertheless, he is expected to run for another term in 2027, despite FIFA's regulations limiting presidents to three terms. In the last two elections in 2019 and 2023, Infantino faced no opposition. He is also credited with significantly improving the financial situation of many football federations, which may bolster his support for a fourth term.
