High School Student's Exam Score Sparks Controversy

High School Student's Exam Score Sparks Controversy

In a surprising turn of events, a student from Luong Tai High School in Bac Ninh, Vietnam, scored 9.5 in the official math graduation exam after previously obtaining only 2.7 in a practice test. This drastic improvement has led to questions about the integrity of the examination process.

The school's administration has initiated a comprehensive review of all examination procedures and is verifying related information to clarify the situation. The student, identified as N.T.T.N., has consistently performed well academically, achieving an average of 8.7 in math over the school year, with scores of 8.4 in the first semester and 8.9 in the second.

Officials from the Bac Ninh Department of Education stated that preliminary checks on the student's academic records showed no signs of irregularities. They emphasized that given the student's strong academic background, a score of around 9 in the graduation exam is entirely plausible.

Regarding the low score of 2.7 in the practice test, the school explained that the student arrived late, which negatively impacted her performance. The school also noted that the student had been proactive in studying, seeking additional tutoring to reinforce her math skills towards the end of the academic year, contributing to her improved official exam results.

The student herself has asserted that she did not bring or use a phone during the exam and adhered strictly to all examination rules. Luong Tai High School has reiterated its commitment to transparency and will not cover up any violations. Should any misconduct be discovered, the school will cooperate with relevant authorities to address the issue appropriately.

The school has also requested that the Bac Ninh Department of Education continue monitoring the situation and work with law enforcement to investigate the motivations behind the dissemination of information on social media that may affect the reputation of the student and the school.

In a related statement, Tạ Việt Hùng, the Director of the Bac Ninh Department of Education, confirmed that they are collaborating closely with authorities to investigate the concerns surrounding the student's math exam results.
