More than 320 students from Tuyen Quang High School for the Gifted are set to register for university admission as the investigation into the unusually high math scores continues. The Ministry of Education and Training announced on July 13 that authorities are urgently investigating the situation regarding the math scores that raised concerns.

While the investigation is ongoing, students at this school can still proceed with their university admission applications, which are due by 5 PM on July 14. The Ministry stated that if any students are found to have violated examination regulations, appropriate actions will be taken according to the current regulations, depending on the nature and severity of the violations.

As of 5:45 PM, over 797,700 candidates had registered for university admission, with more than 6.3 million choices made. Among these, approximately 420,100 candidates selected STEM fields. The controversy surrounding the math exam at Tuyen Quang High School for the Gifted arose when it was discovered that over 140 out of 154 exam papers scored a perfect 10, all belonging to students from this institution. As of now, law enforcement has initiated proceedings against 19 individuals for allegedly abusing their positions while performing their duties during the examination.

Tran Thi Thu Hang, the Deputy Principal of Nguyen Van Huyen High School, has been accused of directing and guiding several exam proctors to facilitate students during the math exam. Consequently, Nguyen Ha Duy, a secretary at the examination site, reportedly entered the exam room and directly assisted some candidates.
