Nguyen Tat Thanh University has announced its admission thresholds for 2026, detailing the scores required

Universities in Vietnam are starting to publish their admission thresholds for the 2026 academic year, providing essential information for students to adjust their application preferences based on their exam results. As of July 4, more than 30 universities nationwide have officially announced their minimum quality assurance scores for various admission methods, including results from the high school graduation exam, academic records, and special exams conducted by the universities themselves.
The leading university in terms of admission scores is the University of Natural Sciences, part of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, with a threshold set at 25. Other member institutions of the Vietnam National University generally have minimum scores starting from 19, while many other universities have thresholds around 15, which is the mandatory minimum for university admission.
This information is crucial for students as they finalize their applications, allowing them to add, remove, or reorder their 15 university preferences until 5 PM on July 14. Following this, universities will announce their official admission scores after 5 PM on August 9.
For the 2026 academic year, the admission thresholds will be based on two methods: selection based on high school graduation exam scores (on a scale of 30) and selection based on multiple score components (on a scale of 100), applicable at certain institutions like the University of Economics in Ho Chi Minh City and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.
For health, education, and law programs, the admission thresholds will be based on the levels published by the Ministry of Education and Training on July 8. Thanh Nien will continuously update the admission thresholds of universities. Additionally, readers can access Thanh Nien's exam score lookup page to follow detailed information about the score distributions of various subjects in the high school graduation exam.
The Ministry of Education and Training reminds students that after completing their application registration, they must pay the online admission fee between July 15 and 5 PM on July 21. Furthermore, students must confirm their enrollment online for the first round on the Ministry's system by 5 PM on August 21, after knowing their admission scores.
This period leading up to July 14 is considered a 'golden time' for students to make significant decisions regarding their educational and career paths.
