Digital immersion forum for higher education launched in Hanoi

HCMC – The “Building University-Industry Learning and Development through Innovation and Technology” project, or BUILD IT, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by Arizona State University, in partnership with the Hanoi University of Industry, hosted a digital immersion forum for higher education in Hanoi City on October 21.

The fifth forum in the six-part Playbook forum series brought together experts in academia, industry and Government representatives to pinpoint the success and challenges in leveraging a digital environment in higher education.

The forum also explored how to maximize multiple modalities available to universities to best support students in an ever-increasing digital world.

Through digital pedagogy, BUILD-IT university partners can access proven best practices, methodologies and approaches for teaching and learning in a digital environment.

The highlight of the forum was a workshop where participating universities shared their success in applying digital immersion to learning and teaching operations.

The Digital Immersion forum also celebrated dedicated and visionary educators from BUILD-IT’s partner universities who strove to build something that will positively affect education in Vietnam.

For the past seven years, BUILD-IT has helped Vietnamese universities create professional development opportunities designed to better prepare them to be successful educators. Vietnam’s technological infrastructure has offered a solid foundation for promoting digital education.

BUILD-IT has gathered experts from local universities and Arizona State University to make progress in establishing long-term, sustainable transformation in the landscape of digital education.

The 2022 BUILD-IT forums celebrate key topics from the BUILD-IT playbook series, as prioritized by university partners. Topics in the playbook series include Institutional Accreditation, Project Based-Learning, Digital Immersion Learning, Program Accreditation, Industry Advisory Boards, Women in STEM, Maker Innovation Network and Faculty Development and Active Learning.
