416 Officials in Quang Ngai Required to Repay Support Funds

The Quang Ngai Department of Home Affairs has reported that 416 officials and civil servants must repay financial support they received after relocating to the new administrative center in Quang Ngai. This repayment is mandated for those who left their positions before June 30, 2026.

According to the resolution from the former Kon Tum Provincial People's Council, officials who moved to the new center from Kon Tum were entitled to a one-time support of 25 million VND per person. However, those who resign or leave their positions before the specified date are required to return the funds, unless the departure was due to unavoidable circumstances.

In total, 1,630 individuals were eligible for this financial assistance, amounting to 36.8 billion VND. However, following the administrative merger, many individuals have changed jobs or left their positions, creating a need for repayment as per the regulations. The Department of Home Affairs has confirmed that 416 individuals are obligated to repay the funds in the third and fourth quarters of 2025 and the first quarter of 2026.

Despite repeated reminders from relevant authorities, many of these individuals have yet to return the support funds after leaving their jobs or transferring to other positions. This situation highlights ongoing challenges in the management of financial support programs following administrative changes.
