Director of Agriculture and Environment Criticized Thrice in a Week
In a concerning development, the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee has issued three reprimands to Ho

The Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment in Quang Ngai, Ho Trong Phuong, has been publicly reprimanded three times within a week for various administrative shortcomings. The criticisms, issued by provincial authorities, emphasize the need for improved efficiency and accountability in managing land-related projects.
On June 24, 2026, Nguyen Hoang Giang, the Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, signed a document urging Phuong to learn from these incidents, particularly regarding the slow progress in updating land price tables. This delay could significantly impact the approval of resolutions and the execution of investment projects.
Earlier, on June 22, Deputy Chairman Do Tam Hien also issued a reminder to Phuong about the tardiness in submitting documents related to land price adjustments. Despite repeated directives from the provincial government and frequent follow-ups, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has not completed its assigned tasks.
Moreover, on June 19, Phuong received a reprimand for delays in executing a project to survey and adjust the land use map, which is crucial for establishing a national land database across 25 eastern communes. This holdup has caused significant setbacks in project timelines and has hindered the province's land database development plans.
In response to these issues, the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee has called for a review of responsibilities within the department and expects a report on the outcomes from the Department of Internal Affairs.
