On June 26, a special train named "Bạch Mai Train" officially departed from Hanoi, transporting more than 500 doctors from Bạch Mai Hospital to its new facility in Ninh Bình. This initiative is part of the hospital's efforts to provide medical services to the local population.
The train, which includes two specialized cars designated PL1 and PL2, is set to operate regularly from Monday to Friday. The first leg of the journey will leave Hanoi at 6:15 AM, arriving in Phủ Lý at 7:22 AM, while the return trip will depart Phủ Lý at 5:20 PM, reaching Hanoi by 6:30 PM. Shuttle buses will be available at Phủ Lý station to transport staff to and from the hospital.
During the launch ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Đào Xuân Cơ, Director of Bạch Mai Hospital, emphasized that this train is not merely a means of transportation but serves as a vital connection, carrying the hospital's commitment to quality healthcare from the capital to the southern provinces. He stated, "We bring the full quality of Bạch Mai to the new facility, ensuring it operates with the same high standards as our main hospital."
The train is equipped with nine soft-seat cars and features air conditioning, along with refreshments such as coffee, tea, and fruit juices for the doctors during their commute. This service is expected to facilitate the daily travel of over 500 healthcare professionals between Hanoi and Ninh Bình.
Many doctors expressed their pride in being part of this significant moment. Nguyễn Thị Hà Giang, a 24-year-old biochemistry specialist, shared her excitement about contributing to the hospital's new chapter. As the train passed by the original Bạch Mai Hospital, hundreds of staff waved goodbye, creating an emotional atmosphere as they embarked on this new journey.
Overall, the introduction of the PL1 and PL2 trains not only enhances infrastructure connectivity but also signifies a commitment from the railway sector to support healthcare professionals in their mission to serve the public.
