Tourists accept to drag suitcases and wait for an hour to eat Michelin bun cha, the restaurant mobilizes 10 workers and can’t serve it

Bun Cha Tuyet is usually crowded, but since being honored by Michelin, more and more guests from far away have visited.

In the list of 29 restaurants that received the Bib Gourmand Award, honoring the MICHELIN Guide standard restaurants selling quality and affordable food, 13 names appeared in Hanoi. Among them, there are many restaurants/eateries that have been famous for a long time, and known by domestic and foreign tourists for a long time.

For many people, just hearing the name Bun Cha Tuyet 34 will immediately remind them of the familiar taste of the shop located at 34 Hang Than. Driving along this road at noon, it is not too difficult to find shops selling vermicelli, pho, vermicelli, rice paper, banh cuon… However, this bun cha restaurant still has its own charm, especially after when honored by Michelin.

6 tables in the house are full of customers throughout the afternoon, 10 employees work non-stop

Just turning at the beginning of Hang Than Street, there was a faint smell of charcoal and grilled meat. Approaching number 34, someone asked and directed the parking lot, either in front of the shop door, or on the opposite side of the street. However, many people who came at noon fell into the situation of having to wait for someone to take the car out to have a place to put the car in. But when the car was in place, diners continued to enter the “battle” of waiting in line to order and straining their eyes, looking to see where they would sit to enjoy.

The line of people queuing up to order.

For solo guests, it is easy to find a table in a “fill in the blank” style, while larger groups, have to wait for staff to arrange tables and chairs.

At peak hours, around 12pm to 13pm, almost never the 6 tables in the house do not welcome guests to stand up – sit down. Even, in order to enjoy early, many groups and families accept to sit on plastic chairs, eat bun cha on a tray, along the sidewalk in front of the house about 500m long.

Guests had to sit on the sidewalk on both sides because the house was full.

At the restaurant, there are more than 10 employees, each one in charge of a different task: 3 car attendants, 1 cashier, 1 dispatcher, 4-5 staff carrying veal, meat, vermicelli, not to mention the people are grilling meat in the alley to the left of the restaurant.

“For a long time, the family still welcomes a large number of guests at noon, so it almost mobilizes all its manpower. On weekdays, there are also office workers working around this area. But for a week now, it’s true. There are many guests who share that they know the restaurant is on the list of Michelin so they want to try it.” Perhaps because of the busyness of welcoming guests until a week after the restaurant was honored, until now, Ta Anh Tuyet has not found a suitable place to hang or place the prestigious sign awarded by Michelin. .

The staff never rested. The electric oven located on the left side of the store buzzed all afternoon because the staff was baking there.

Tourists bring suitcases to eat, patrons talk about their memories with the restaurant

The guests who come to Bun Cha Tuyet 34 are of all ages. There are men and women who are over 70 years old, still standing in line with everyone waiting for their turn to eat. There are families who bring their children here, enjoy and tell their children about the old memories of their parents with this 3-generation bun cha restaurant.

“My most fond memory of Bun Cha Tuyet is when her mother was still selling it, I was in grades 7 or 8 or something. One day when I improved my bun cha at home, my grandmother would tell me to leave school at school and pedal. The car quickly came here to buy food for the whole family to eat. One day I was busy playing with my friends. When I came out at 12:30, the restaurant was crowded and the grilled sausages were not cooked yet. so at that time, tears were short and long, panicking and asked the owner for a part 3. Who would have thought that she laughed and said there was still meat, grilled over there”, Pham Thi Hong Man – a guest revealed that she ate here when she was a teenager. student, now married.

A serving of bun cha is full of ball rolls, minced pork rolls, and river bones.

A series of lively conversations took place between the guests who chose bun cha for lunch. In particular, there are many views of the old town diners, who are very familiar with Hanoi cuisine, which makes many people who first come to the restaurant express their excitement and want to hear more details.

Many tourists bring their suitcases to eat bun cha.

Ms. Hoang Nhu T. (35 years old, Binh Dinh) and 2 friends have just had a short trip in Hanoi. Before leaving for the airport, they still decided to eat vermicelli and spring rolls at Bun Cha Tuyet 34. “We also determined that the restaurant would be very crowded and had to wait, so we brought our suitcases with us. Although the restaurant was crowded, it took almost an hour to wait for a seat and eat, but the friendliness of the staff, the owner and the guests made me feel very comfortable. Grilled charcoal is typical, the sauce is pale for my taste, but adding spices, garlic, and chili will make it more satisfying.I especially like the patty with river bones, not all restaurants can make this dish. this,” said Ms. T.
