On September 14, 2026, Hòa Phát Dung Quất Steel Company, a subsidiary of Hòa Phát Group, received several electric vehicles, including electric wheel loaders and trucks. This initiative is part of the company's strategy to transition towards electric-powered machinery, contributing to greener production methods and promoting sustainable development.

According to Hoàng Ngọc Phượng, Deputy Director of Hòa Phát Dung Quất, the company is investing in modern vehicles that utilize green technology to reduce fossil fuel consumption, minimize environmental emissions, and optimize operational costs at the complex. This initiative reflects the company's social responsibility and commitment to a green transition, enhancing its competitiveness while meeting increasingly stringent environmental standards in both domestic and international markets.

The new generation of electric vehicles, including the electric trucks and wheel loaders, are equipped with intelligent operating technology and high-performance electric motors that meet the demands of heavy industrial environments. By integrating these electric vehicles into their operations, Hòa Phát aims to significantly reduce energy consumption and eliminate greenhouse gas emissions.

Hòa Phát Dung Quất is the largest member company of Hòa Phát Group, which is chaired by Trần Đình Long. The company is responsible for constructing and operating the Hòa Phát steel manufacturing complex in Dung Quất Economic Zone, Quảng Ngãi Province, with a production capacity of 12 million tons per year. Various energy-saving solutions are being implemented at the complex, including utilizing residual heat, excess pressure generated during production, and saturated steam for electricity generation.

In the first half of 2026, Hòa Phát Dung Quất produced approximately 2.28 billion kWh of self-generated electricity, covering about 90% of its production electricity needs. Additionally, starting in 2025, the company allocated 600 billion VND to develop a solar power project with a designed capacity of 79.2 MWp. Expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2027, this project will generate over 115 million kWh of clean electricity and help reduce more than 78,000 tons of CO2 annually, making it one of the largest rooftop solar projects in the industrial sector in Vietnam.
