Oklahoma is set to experience another day of extreme heat and severe weather, with Oklahoma City reaching 100 degrees for the 41st time this year. Northern Oklahoma is under a storm threat from 5 p.m. Saturday until midnight, as forecasters warn of damaging winds and hail.

According to KOCO 5 Chief Meteorologist Damon Lane, the primary threats from the storms include winds reaching 60 to 70 mph and hail potentially the size of quarters. Isolated storms are anticipated to develop, bringing heavy rain to areas such as Buffalo, Wichita, Ponca City, Perry, and Stillwater.

As the weekend progresses, heavy rain is expected in Woodward and Seiling early Sunday morning. Despite the potential for beneficial rainfall, temperatures are still projected to climb into the triple digits on Sunday, further intensifying the heat wave affecting the region.

This extreme weather highlights the ongoing challenges faced by Oklahomans during this particularly hot summer, with residents urged to stay alert and prepared for rapidly changing conditions.
