SCEX, a cryptocurrency exchange where Nguyen Xuan Thai serves as Vice Chairman, has recently reported a substantial increase in its charter capital, raising it from 360 billion VND to 5 trillion VND. This represents a remarkable growth of nearly 14 times and a staggering 735-fold increase since the company's establishment in September 2025.
Founded with an initial capital of just 6.8 billion VND, SCEX has undergone rapid expansion. In February 2026, the exchange's capital was raised to 360 billion VND, and now it has reached 5 trillion VND within a few months. This latest capital increase is part of SCEX's strategy to strengthen its position in the Vietnamese cryptocurrency market.
Nguyen Xuan Thai, the Vice Chairman of SCEX, is the son of Nguyen Duc Thuy, who is also the Vice Chairman of Sacombank. Before joining SCEX, Thai was involved in the management of Phu Dong Sports Investment Joint Stock Company, which oversees Ninh Binh Football Club. The current leadership of SCEX is headed by Nguyen Duy Khoa, who has extensive experience in finance and securities, having worked with various organizations including ACBS, SSI, VNDirect, Red Capital, and LPBS.
The capital increase comes as SCEX prepares to participate in the cryptocurrency asset market in Vietnam. In March 2026, the company was recognized among those with complete and valid applications for the Ministry of Finance's pilot program for the cryptocurrency asset market. SCEX is focusing on investing in technology infrastructure, security systems, risk management, blockchain, and information security.
Furthermore, the company is developing a trading platform aimed at various customer segments, including new investors entering the digital asset market. This strategic move is expected to enhance SCEX's capabilities and competitiveness as the cryptocurrency landscape evolves in Vietnam.
