Japanese firms eye investment in Danang

HCMC – A delegation of 25 Japanese firms led by Kuroiwa Yuji, Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture in Japan, arrived in Danang City on November 17 to visit the city and sound out investment and cooperation opportunities.

The Japanese side will hold a trade promotion conference to strengthen the partnership between Danang City and Kanagawa Prefecture, said the governor of Kanagawa Prefecture.

Kuroiwa said that 12 Vietnamese enterprises are operating in Kanagawa, while Vietnam is seeing the same number of Kanagawa firms doing business here.

Danang is a famous tourism city with potential for the growth of multiple fields, said Kuroiwa.

Speaking at the meeting with Kuroiwa and representatives of Japanese firms, Nguyen Van Quang, Party Secretary of Danang, said that Danang City boasts great potential for developing hi-technology, information technology and healthcare.

Danang City is set to become a high-quality financial and cultural hub in the central region of Vietnam, the local media reported, citing Quang.

The representative of Danang expected Kuroiwa’s Vietnam visit to bring about many cooperation opportunities.

The governor of Kanagawa said that the prefecture is focusing on preferential policies for healthcare, hoping that the two sides will cooperate in this field in the coming time.
