Lâm Đồng province is making significant strides in preparing for the school year opening scheduled for September 5, 2026. As of September 4, local education authorities reported that preparations are nearly complete, with schools rushing to finalize the last details to welcome students.
Special attention is being given to two boarding schools in the border areas. The Thuan An Primary and Secondary Boarding School has completed all construction phases and is ready for handover. The school is currently rehearsing for the opening ceremony, even with light rain expected.
On the morning of September 4, the principal of Thuan An School, Nguyen Kien Huyen, confirmed that students were practicing for the ceremony. The provincial chairman, Ho Van Muoi, is set to attend the ceremony at this border school on September 5.
Meanwhile, at the Quang Truc Primary and Secondary Boarding School, construction teams are increasing manpower and working overtime to expedite the final touches. Over 60% of the necessary equipment and furnishings have already been delivered to the site, with installation expected to be completed by September 4.
Despite the challenges posed by recent heavy rains in the border region, the Lâm Đồng provincial government has urged all units to accelerate the completion of school facilities while ensuring the safety of students and teachers during the opening ceremony.
As of September 3, all 122 communes, wards, and districts in Lâm Đồng have issued decisions regarding the establishment of schools following recent mergers. The education sector is also overseeing the distribution of textbooks to ensure students have the necessary materials before the new school year begins.
In preparation for the opening day, schools are expected to organize brief, joyful activities such as welcoming new students and cultural performances. If weather conditions allow, ceremonies will be held outdoors; otherwise, they may take place in halls or classrooms. Students will also participate in a nationwide opening ceremony broadcasted live on VTV1 and VOV1.
The education department has emphasized the importance of keeping the opening ceremony concise, ensuring it is a festive occasion for students as they embark on a new academic year. Additionally, schools are advised to prioritize safety during the rainy season, particularly concerning student transportation and traffic safety.
Overall, Lâm Đồng province is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for students as they start the new school year, despite the challenging weather conditions.
