From August 26 to September 25, 2026, the Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security in Vietnam will conduct a comprehensive inspection of commercial vehicles, specifically focusing on buses with eight or more seats and freight trucks. This initiative is part of a national effort to ensure road safety and compliance with traffic laws.

The Traffic Police will target various types of vehicles during this period, including cargo trucks, trailers, and construction material transport vehicles. They will also focus on passenger buses, including double-decker sleeper buses. The inspections will take place on major national highways, expressways, and in areas known for steep roads and limited visibility, which are prone to traffic accidents.

Key violations that the Traffic Police will monitor include speeding, improper lane usage, illegal overtaking, using mobile phones while driving, and improper stopping or loading/unloading of passengers and goods. Additionally, they will check vehicles that operate without proper registration for commercial transport, as well as those that exceed permitted operational hours or violate regulations regarding tracking devices and driver monitoring systems.

Other violations under scrutiny will include overloading and modifications to vehicle structures that violate transport regulations. On expressways, the police will particularly focus on ensuring that vehicles maintain safe distances from one another to prevent accidents.

Should any violations be detected that involve the responsibilities of transport companies, the Traffic Police will recommend further investigations and actions against the businesses and vehicle owners as per legal requirements.

This nationwide inspection aims to strengthen adherence to traffic laws and reduce the risk of accidents involving commercial transport vehicles across Vietnam.
