Hanoi and the northern regions of Vietnam are finally seeing a positive shift in the weather following days of heavy rain. According to the latest weather forecast, the intense rainfall in the northern area is expected to diminish as Storm No. 4 shifts southward and loses strength.

The storm, which has been classified at levels 8-9 with gusts reaching level 11, is moving southeast and will eventually change direction to the northeast and north. As it weakens, it will transition into a tropical depression before dissipating in Guangxi, China.

Due to the storm's circulation, provinces such as Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh have experienced continued moderate to heavy rainfall, with totals ranging from 50 to 100 mm, and some areas receiving over 180 mm. However, as of this afternoon, the rain is expected to gradually decrease, bringing sunshine to many regions, particularly in the mountainous and midland areas of Northern Vietnam.

In some mountainous locations, such as Lao Cai and Ha Giang, temperatures could reach as high as 37 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the capital city of Hanoi and surrounding areas will see maximum temperatures ranging from 31 to 34 degrees Celsius.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has indicated that the weather in Central Vietnam, particularly from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh, will not exceed 31 degrees Celsius today. In contrast, the area from Quang Tri to the southern coastal regions will experience significant heat, with temperatures soaring up to 39 degrees Celsius.

In the Central Highlands and Southern Vietnam, sunny weather is expected throughout the day, with temperatures generally between 27 and 32 degrees Celsius, while the southern regions may reach 32 to 34 degrees Celsius. Scattered showers are anticipated in the evening.

Looking ahead, the weather forecast for the next ten days indicates that from the night of August 25 to August 26, scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely in the northern regions and from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh, with some areas experiencing heavy rainfall. From August 26, more rain is expected, particularly in Nghe An and Ha Tinh.

In the Quang Tri region and the coastal areas of Central Vietnam, brief showers and thunderstorms may occur in the evening, while daytime temperatures will remain high. The Central Highlands and Southern Vietnam will also see scattered showers and thunderstorms, with potential for strong winds and hail during storms.

As of this morning, Storm No. 4 has weakened and is moving away from the Vietnamese coastline towards Guangxi, China, marking a significant change in the weather pattern.
