In Ninh Binh, a video showing Lê Thị Hà, the principal of Yên Thắng Primary School, engaging in aggressive behavior has sparked significant controversy. The incident, which took place on October 15, 2025, involved the principal shouting, slamming a table, and throwing a cup during a visit to her former school, Mai Sơn Primary School, where she reportedly had a confrontation with another principal, Hà Thị Phương.
The local authorities only began investigating the matter after the video surfaced online, prompting the Yên Thắng People's Committee to take action. According to Mai Quang Túc, the Vice Chairman of the Yên Thắng People's Committee, the incident occurred during a break time for students, rather than a formal meeting, as previously suggested.
Reports indicate that the conflict between the two principals stemmed from work-related disagreements. Following the incident, both schools involved were instructed to provide reports for further clarification. Túc expressed surprise at the unprofessional behavior exhibited by Hà, noting that such actions are unbecoming of an educator.
In response to inquiries, Hà Thị Phương, the principal of Mai Sơn Primary School, denied any personal conflict with Hà and suggested that the outburst may have been a moment of impulsive anger. Despite the initial reports characterizing the incident as a significant issue, Phương maintained that their relationship was amicable.
The situation escalated when the video was shared widely on social media, leading to public outcry and scrutiny of the educators' conduct. The Yên Thắng People's Committee has since formed a task force to investigate the incident further and address the underlying issues between the two principals.
As the investigation continues, the incident has raised important questions about the professional standards expected of school leaders and the impact of their behavior on the educational environment.
