The landscape of legal education in Vietnam is evolving as the 2026 academic year approaches. With over 100 universities offering law programs, five institutions stand out for their specialized training in this field. This year marks the introduction of a minimum admission score set by the Ministry of Education and Training, leading to notable fluctuations in the admission scores across various law schools.

One of the prominent institutions, Hanoi Law University, offers four programs: Law, Economic Law, International Trade Law, and English Language (with a focus on legal English). For 2026, the university plans to enroll approximately 2,850 students, with around 2,550 spots available at its main campus and about 300 at its Dak Lak branch. The tuition fee for the standard program is projected to be 840,000 VND per credit hour, with students required to pay for five months each semester and a total of 140 credits for the course.

Another key player, the National University of Hanoi Law School, is expected to admit 1,000 students across three fields of study. The tuition details are yet to be fully disclosed, but the school is preparing for a competitive admission process.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Law anticipates enrolling 4,200 students, an increase of approximately 850 from the previous year. Tuition fees for standard programs are estimated to range from over 44 million VND to more than 53 million VND annually, while high-quality programs could cost nearly 90 million VND or more, with English-taught courses potentially reaching up to 220 million VND per year.

The University of Economics and Law (part of the National University of Ho Chi Minh City) is set to accept 3,200 students, an increase of 500 from last year. Tuition fees vary by program, with the Vietnamese language program costing around 35.8 million VND per student, while the English Co-op program is estimated at 55 million VND, and the full English program at 73.5 million VND.

Lastly, Hue University of Law plans to enroll 1,400 students for its Law and Economic Law programs. The projected tuition fee for the 2026-2027 academic year is set at 18 million VND per student, with any annual increases capped at 20% compared to the previous year.
