Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Plan International Flights from Long Thanh
Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet are preparing to launch international flights from Long Thanh International

Breeze Airways has announced the launch of seven new international routes that will begin operations between September 2026 and March 2027. This expansion marks a significant step for the airline as it continues to grow its international offerings, primarily utilizing its Airbus A220 aircraft for these routes.
The new routes include three originating from Tampa, Florida. The first route to San Jose, Costa Rica, will commence on October 3, 2026, with flights operating twice a week. Following that, Breeze will introduce two more routes from Tampa to Cancun, Mexico, and Montego Bay, Jamaica, starting on December 19, 2026, also operating twice weekly. Michael Stephens, CEO of Tampa International Airport, expressed excitement about these new routes, highlighting the opportunity for travelers to explore the culture and beauty of Latin America and the Caribbean.
Additionally, Pittsburgh International Airport will see Breeze launching routes to Cancun and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic starting January 7, 2027, with three flights a week. Richmond International Airport will also benefit from a new route to Cancun, beginning on January 8, 2027, with a twice-weekly service. The final route will operate from John Glenn Columbus International Airport to Punta Cana, also starting on January 8, 2027, with flights twice a week.
Despite this international growth, Breeze Airways' international operations remain relatively small compared to its extensive domestic network. In December 2026, the airline is scheduled to operate 68 international departures, while domestic flights will total a staggering 8,476. The most frequently served international route will link Tampa with Nassau in the Bahamas, with four to five flights a week planned.
As Breeze Airways continues to expand its international footprint, the introduction of the Airbus A220 will enhance the travel experience, offering more seats and a premium cabin option for passengers. This strategic move reflects the airline's commitment to providing diverse travel options and improving customer experience.
