Tam Anh General Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City has set a new record by surpassing 100 complex joint surgeries utilizing the cutting-edge AI robot CUVIS-Joint. This achievement not only highlights the hospital's advanced capabilities but also offers new hope for patients facing severe mobility issues.

The renowned robot manufacturer CUREXO has publicly congratulated Tam Anh Hospital for its outstanding success rate, which is significantly higher than the initial results recorded in major hospitals across Europe, Korea, and India. Typically, achieving 100 robotic surgeries can take other international medical facilities between 6 to 12 months due to patient selection and the training required for staff to master the technology.

Dr. Le Van Tuan, Director of the Orthopedic Trauma Center at Tam Anh Hospital, noted that the majority of the surgeries performed were for complex cases that traditional methods or older generation robots could not handle safely or effectively. Patients often faced life-altering risks due to severe joint deformities, bone necrosis, or other underlying health conditions.

Among the successful cases is Mr. Hao, a 70-year-old man who underwent knee replacement surgery with the CUVIS-Joint robot. His pre-surgery X-ray revealed significant joint damage, but the use of AI technology allowed for precise planning and execution of the surgery. Remarkably, he was able to walk without assistance just days after the operation.

Another patient, Mrs. Thanh, 77, faced challenges due to a previous fracture that complicated her surgery options. Thanks to the advanced capabilities of the CUVIS-Joint robot, she was able to undergo surgery without the need for additional invasive procedures, leading to a swift recovery.

The CUVIS-Joint robot provides surgeons with enhanced visibility and accuracy, allowing for personalized surgical plans tailored to each patient's unique anatomy. This technology significantly reduces surgery time, averaging between 60 to 90 minutes, while ensuring high safety and precision standards.

In addition to the CUVIS-Joint robot, Tam Anh Hospital has invested in state-of-the-art imaging equipment and rehabilitation technologies, enhancing its ability to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal conditions effectively.

The total cost for a robotic knee replacement at Tam Anh is approximately 135 million VND, which includes all pre-operative diagnostics, surgery, post-operative care, and specialized nutrition, making it significantly more affordable compared to similar procedures in other countries.

To achieve these results, Tam Anh Hospital has dedicated years to training and developing expertise in high-tech joint replacement surgery, participating in numerous international conferences and training programs. In 2025, the hospital plans to send its surgeons to five major hospitals in Korea for further training in robotic-assisted surgeries.

According to CUREXO, the CUVIS-Joint robot has received FDA approval and is currently available in only a limited number of hospitals worldwide, making Vietnam the ninth country to utilize this advanced technology at Tam Anh Hospital.
