Two fourth-year medical students from Hanoi University of Business and Technology have been suspended for one year due to inappropriate behavior during a livestream while on duty at a hospital. The students were found to have used vulgar language and made alarming comments while dressed in medical uniforms at the hospital's reception area.

On July 31, Nguyen Van Long, the Deputy Director of the university's Communication Center, stated that the disciplinary council had considered the students' academic records and the school's disciplinary framework before making their decision. "The university is committed to strictly handling violations to maintain a healthy educational environment," Long emphasized, adding that the students acknowledged their wrongdoing and expressed regret.

The controversial livestream occurred on the night of July 25 at the Pediatrics Department of Duc Giang Hospital. During the broadcast, the students pointed at the camera and made threatening remarks, including a claim about administering "poisonous drugs" to a viewer interacting with them. This video quickly circulated on social media, garnering thousands of shares and comments, with the majority expressing concern and outrage over the students' conduct, which was deemed inappropriate and unprofessional for individuals in the medical field.

The university confirmed that the incident was not reflective of its standards, as it has been training medical professionals since 2016, with annual tuition fees set at approximately 66.28 million VND. The admission score for the medical program typically aligns with the national minimum set by the Ministry of Education and Training, which was 20.5 points for the previous year.

This incident has prompted the university to remind all students about the importance of maintaining professional conduct, especially in sensitive environments like hospitals.
