Local authorities in Lâm Đồng province are actively engaged in recovery efforts following a series of heavy rains and floods that started on July 27, 2026. The ongoing rainfall has led to significant flooding in various areas, impacting homes and agricultural land.

As of now, the province has experienced continuous moderate to heavy rainfall, resulting in the inundation of numerous houses and crops, as well as damage to transportation infrastructure. Preliminary estimates indicate that the total damages could reach approximately 5 billion VND. Fortunately, there have been no reported casualties.

According to local reports, 104 houses have been affected, with 98 of them submerged under 0.3 to 1.5 meters of water. Additionally, six houses in Phường 3, Bảo Lộc, had to be evacuated due to landslides. The agricultural sector has also suffered, with around 705 hectares of various crops—including rice, fruit trees, mulberry, and durian—flooded in areas such as Đạ Tẻh, Nghị Đức, Bắc Ruộng, Nam Thành, and Đam Rông 1.

Moreover, the heavy rains have caused localized flooding on Route 721 and have resulted in landslides in residential areas and rural roads. Some infrastructure, including culverts, rural bridges, and irrigation canals, has also been damaged across several districts.

The Lâm Đồng Provincial Disaster Prevention Committee reported that local governments have been working closely with police and military forces to assist residents in evacuating and relocating their belongings to safer areas. Efforts are underway to clear debris from landslides and restore traffic flow. Authorities are also assessing the extent of the damage to implement timely support measures.

Forecasts from specialized agencies indicate that the region will continue to experience moderate to heavy rainfall until July 30, with expected rainfall amounts ranging from 40 to 70 mm per 24 hours, and some areas potentially exceeding 100 mm. The heavy rains are anticipated to diminish after July 30.

Authorities have issued warnings about the high risk of flooding in low-lying areas and landslides in regions with steep terrain and weak geological foundations.
