On July 26, 2026, Tran Thanh Man, a member of the Politburo and Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, led a delegation to Le Thi Rieng Park in Ho Chi Minh City to commemorate the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country. This visit is part of the observance of the 79th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day, which falls on July 27.

The delegation included prominent leaders such as Trần Cẩm Tú, the Permanent Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Bùi Thị Minh Hoài, the Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee. They gathered at the park to offer incense and flowers at several memorial sites, including the statue of former General Secretary Trần Phú, the memorial house for heroes who fell during the 1968 Tet Offensive, and the resting place for the remains of fallen soldiers.

During the solemn ceremony, the leaders expressed their deep gratitude and respect for the heroes who fought valiantly for national liberation and unity. After the tribute, Chairman Tran Thanh Man visited the area where efforts are underway to search for and identify the remains of soldiers, receiving updates on the progress of the ongoing mission.

Since July 6, 2026, Ho Chi Minh City has been actively involved in the search and identification of fallen soldiers' remains at Le Thi Rieng Park. As of July 24, search teams have successfully located 101 individual remains and five collective remains of soldiers.

In the evening of the same day, Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his delegation were scheduled to participate in a live television program titled "Stars Lighting the Way" to further commemorate the sacrifices made by the nation's heroes.
