Nguyen Thi Thanh Thao, 35, from Phu Nhuan District, expressed her emotions as she prayed for the soldiers. She shared that her family was deeply moved by the news of the ongoing search for the remains of the soldiers. "Thinking about the sacrifices made for our generation to live in peace, I felt compelled to do something to show my gratitude," Thao said. Together with her family, she prepared both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals to offer at the site.

Thao emphasized the pain of knowing that these soldiers have been resting underground for over 50 years. She hopes that all fallen soldiers will soon be found, allowing their families to find peace and happiness, and that the government will continue to show care for the families of these heroes.

Another participant, Nguyen Huu Tho, 36, from Thanh My Tay District, also joined the tribute despite not having any fallen soldiers in his family. He felt it was essential to express gratitude for the heroes who fought for the nation. "We live in peace today thanks to the sacrifices of these brave soldiers, so it is necessary to show our appreciation," Tho shared.

This was Tho's first time participating in such a tribute, and he expressed hope that the remains of those yet to be located would soon be found and cared for properly.

At the park's memorial site for General Secretary Tran Phu, many young people gathered to light incense in memory of the fallen. Tran Thuy My, 34, from Tan Son Nhat, mentioned that she often exercised in the park but was unaware of the soldiers' sacrifices there. Upon learning about the search for the remains, she felt compelled to bring offerings as a sign of respect.

My believes that the repatriation of remains not only serves as a tribute but also reminds younger generations of the sacrifices made by their ancestors for the country's independence and peace. She hopes that these soldiers will soon return home after years of being lost.

Nguyen Anh Nguyet, 22, from An Hoi Tay, learned about the tribute through her family and decided to participate. "I want to pray for the souls of the soldiers to find peace and express my gratitude for their sacrifices for our freedom," Nguyet stated. Born in peacetime, she expressed her sorrow knowing that many soldiers remain unfound.

Nguyet appreciates the government's ongoing efforts to locate and repatriate the remains, viewing it as a sign of respect and remembrance for those who have contributed to the nation. She is determined to continue learning and developing herself to honor the sacrifices of previous generations.
