In a shocking case of medical fraud, ten individuals have been arrested in Nghe An for allegedly fabricating

A man in Lang Son, Vietnam, has been arrested for impersonating a dentist and defrauding hundreds of patients seeking dental care. Hoang Trong Nguyen, 38, from Thai Nguyen, posed as a doctor with 20 years of experience while operating a dental clinic that falsely advertised itself as a leader in smile aesthetics.
Nguyen, along with his staff, wore white lab coats and promoted their services through social media, specifically on Facebook, where they claimed to have a fully qualified medical team. To build credibility, Nguyen issued medical examination certificates under the guise of being a licensed dentist, misleading patients into trusting his services.
However, investigations revealed that Nguyen's clinic, named Duc Anh, lacked any qualified dental professionals. On July 9, police caught him in the act while he was treating three patients. Following this, authorities have interviewed 18 customers and discovered that the clinic had illegally profited approximately 400 million VND (around $17,000).
Nguyen admitted to impersonating a doctor since 2023 and claimed to have defrauded many individuals, amassing billions of VND in illegal earnings. The Lang Son police have urged the public to seek dental care only from licensed healthcare facilities to protect their health and rights.
