Owner of Dai Nam Dental Aesthetic Chain Arrested for Fraud

Hồ Ngọc Tiên Trung, the 54-year-old owner of the Dai Nam dental aesthetic chain, has been arrested by the Ministry of Public Security in Vietnam. He faces charges of fraud and serious violations of accounting regulations. The arrest, which occurred on July 1, 2026, is part of an ongoing investigation into fraudulent activities that have impacted numerous customers.

The investigation by the Ministry's Criminal Investigation Agency has revealed that Trung exploited the establishment and operation of his dental clinics to gain trust. He falsely advertised a team of qualified dentists and the use of high-quality dental materials sourced from the United States, Germany, and Japan, encouraging customers to make payments for services.

However, Trung directed his associates, including Thái Hữu Văn and Đàm Thị Bích Hằng, to use low-quality dental materials from China instead of the promised premium products. They also issued misleading warranty cards that misrepresented the origins of the materials used, thereby concealing their fraudulent activities.

Additionally, Trung established multiple clinics under individual business licenses, which allowed him to maintain separate accounting records that did not accurately reflect the actual revenue. This manipulation was aimed at evading taxes by declaring lower earnings than what was truly generated.

The Criminal Investigation Agency has identified the customers who utilized services from the Dai Nam dental clinics as victims in this case. Authorities are urging affected individuals and organizations to contact the relevant police departments for assistance and resolution.

This case highlights ongoing issues within the dental industry in Vietnam, particularly concerning fraudulent practices that exploit consumer trust. The Ministry of Public Security continues to investigate the matter to ensure accountability and protect consumers.
