From July 22 to July 24, Ho Chi Minh City will offer free movie screenings at 57 theaters across the city. This initiative is part of a nationwide program to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day, which falls on July 27.

During the three-day event, most theaters will schedule two free screenings each day. The program is designed to serve veterans, families of those who contributed to the revolution, armed forces members, youth, students, and the general public.

The films being screened include:

• Don't Burn (2008), directed by People's Artist Dang Nhat Minh
• Burning Grass (2011), directed by Meritorious Artist Nguyen Huu Muoi
• Those Who Write Legends (2013), directed by Meritorious Artist Bui Tuan Dung
• Through the Forest (2015), directed by Xuan Cuong
• The Legend of Quan Tien (2019), directed by Dinh Tuan Vu
• Red Dawn (2021), directed by People's Artist Nguyen Thanh Van

These films, commissioned by the state, hold significant artistic and ideological value, showcasing the historical struggles and the image of Vietnamese soldiers throughout various periods.

The complete list of theaters, their addresses, and specific screening times will be available in an infographic shared by the organizers. This initiative is part of a broader film week organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with relevant agencies.

The film week runs from July 21 to July 28, aiming to express gratitude to heroes, martyrs, and those who have contributed to the revolution while spreading the values of history and patriotism to the wider community.
