Two films featuring well-known Vietnamese actors Quang Tuan and Tran Thanh are currently vying for box office supremacy. 'Soul Catcher', directed by Bui Van Hai, continues to draw audiences, having grossed over 25 billion VND since its release. On July 16, the film earned an additional 350 million VND from 4,443 screenings, indicating sustained interest despite being in theaters for some time.

This positive trend is encouraging for the Vietnamese horror film genre, which has gained traction among viewers in recent years. However, 'Soul Catcher' has faced criticism for its perceived lack of logical coherence in the storyline. The film runs for 103 minutes and explores mysterious phenomena and father-son relationships.

In contrast, 'Running Man Vietnam 2026 - Lord of Time', featuring Tran Thanh, is also performing well at the box office. The film adaptation of the popular reality show has grossed over 8.1 billion VND, with an additional 300 million VND earned on July 16. Unlike traditional film releases, this project is primarily showcased through special screenings that include fan interactions and viewing of the first episode, which has contributed to its favorable revenue figures.

Prior to this, the producers noted that many screenings in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi were sold out during watch parties, attracting large crowds of fans and artists alike.
