Dân trí Brings Warmth to Central Vietnam, Honoring 1,000 Veterans

Dân trí newspaper is organizing a series of events to honor 1,000 former youth volunteers (TNXP) and war veterans in the Central region of Vietnam, specifically in Hà Tĩnh and Quảng Trị provinces. This initiative is part of their commitment to express gratitude to those who have served the nation, coinciding with the 76th anniversary of the Youth Volunteer Force on July 15, 2026, and the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27, 2026.

The program will take place from July 17 to July 20, featuring health check-ups, gift distributions, and the construction of ten humanitarian houses for veterans in need. The Dân trí team, led by Editor-in-Chief Phạm Tuấn Anh, will visit the homes of veterans and former TNXP members facing particularly challenging circumstances.

In Hà Tĩnh, the team will collaborate with local authorities to provide free health check-ups and medications to 500 former TNXP members over two days, July 17 and 18, in Thạch Hà and Kỳ Anh. Additionally, five humanitarian houses will be presented to veterans in the province.

Many veterans expressed their anticipation for the event. Nguyễn Thị Đào, a former TNXP member, shared her excitement about receiving medical attention, stating, "Knowing that I am still remembered and cared for fills my heart with warmth. It’s not just about the gifts but the love and respect that I feel from the community."

Similarly, Lê Văn Sinh, a war veteran and chairman of the local TNXP association, emphasized the significance of the visit, saying, "The presence of the team means more to us than any material gift. It reminds us that our sacrifices are valued and not forgotten."

According to Lê Văn Liêm, chairman of the Hà Tĩnh TNXP Association, the program is a significant morale booster for veterans. With over 7,000 former TNXP members in Hà Tĩnh, many of whom are now in their seventies, the health check-ups and gifts serve as a vital source of encouragement.

The initiative will continue in Quảng Trị on July 19, where the team will provide services to 250 former TNXP members, visit memorial sites, and honor fallen heroes. The Dân trí team aims to strengthen the bonds of compassion and gratitude, reflecting the Vietnamese ethos of remembering those who have contributed to the nation.

Every July, Dân trí organizes various activities to honor those who have served the country. In 2025, the gifts and medical services provided will be particularly meaningful as they take place in a region rich with historical significance.
