Authorities in Tuyen Quang have charged an additional 15 individuals in connection with a cheating scandal

Two teachers from Le Truc High School in Quang Tri have been charged with abusing their positions during the 2026 high school graduation exam. The charges were announced by the Quang Tri Provincial Police's Investigation Security Agency on July 19, involving Trần Đức Lực, 47, and Đoàn Thị Thanh Bình, 48, both of whom are educators at the school.
Mr. Lực served as the head of the Mathematics department and deputy chief of the exam site, while Ms. Bình was the head of the Literature department and secretary of the exam site. They, along with nine students, are implicated in actions that compromised the integrity of the exam process.
The Quang Tri Department of Education and Training has classified this incident as serious, affecting the fairness of the exam, the rights of students, and the credibility of the education sector. During a meeting on July 18, the Minister of Education and Training and the Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee agreed on the need for strict and objective handling of the situation, clarifying the responsibilities of all involved parties.
The Provincial Steering Committee for the 2026 high school graduation exam stated that they would continue to collaborate with relevant authorities to address the issue and review the organization of the exam across the province to promptly identify and resolve any violations. Following the emergence of social media reports on July 9, alleging that some exam supervisors were guiding students during the exam, Quang Tri established a special task force to review the entire examination process and results at Le Truc High School.
As the investigation unfolds, the Steering Committee will provide updates to the media regarding any new findings or developments.
