Minimum Admission Scores Announced for Eight Police Schools

The Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam has officially announced the minimum admission scores for eight police schools, which will remain consistent with the previous year. As of July 11, candidates applying for these institutions must meet specific criteria to ensure quality in the selection process.

Admission Requirements

The minimum score for candidates applying to the eight police schools is set at 70 out of 100. This score is based on a combination of the results from the high school graduation exam or equivalent international language certifications and an evaluation exam conducted by the Ministry of Public Security. Additionally, candidates must achieve at least 15 out of 30 points in three subjects of the high school graduation exam, as stipulated for the 2026 university admission process.

For the Medical Science program at the Academy of Security Techniques and Technology, candidates must meet two specific criteria: a minimum of 22 out of 30 points in the high school graduation exam and at least 20 out of 100 points in the evaluation exam. The detailed minimum scores for each of the eight schools are as follows:

  • Academy of Security Techniques and Technology - Medical Science: 22/30 (graduation exam) and 20/100 (evaluation exam).
  • People's Security Academy - 70/100 (combined score) and 15/30 (graduation exam).
  • People's Police Academy - 70/100 (combined score) and 15/30 (graduation exam).
  • Political Academy of People's Security - 70/100 (combined score) and 15/30 (graduation exam).
  • University of Security - 70/100 (combined score) and 15/30 (graduation exam).
  • University of Police - 70/100 (combined score) and 15/30 (graduation exam).
  • University of Fire Prevention and Fighting - 70/100 (combined score) and 15/30 (graduation exam).
  • International Academy - 70/100 (combined score) and 15/30 (graduation exam).

In addition to the standard admission criteria, candidates applying through direct admission must have achieved national or international scientific and technical awards. For instance, applicants to the Academy of Security Techniques and Technology must score at least 40 out of 100 in the evaluation exam, while those applying to the People's Security Academy need a minimum of 35 out of 100.

This year, the eight police schools are set to enroll 2,070 students, a decrease of approximately 280 compared to last year. The selection process will utilize three methods: direct admission, combined evaluation of international language certifications with the Ministry's evaluation exam, and the high school graduation exam results along with the evaluation exam scores.

The scoring formula for the combined assessment is as follows: Admission Score = (Total graduation exam score for three subjects / Certification score) * 2/5 + (Evaluation exam score) * 3/5 + Bonus points. Last year, the admission scores for these schools ranged from 15.95 to 26.28 out of 30 based on the combined evaluation method.
