Heavy Rain Forecast for Northern Vietnam, Flood Warnings Issued

Hanoi is bracing for heavy rainfall, with forecasts indicating that several areas in Northern Vietnam, including Thanh Hoa and Nghe An, may experience significant downpours. According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the region is likely to see rainfall exceeding 70mm in a short period, with some areas already reporting over 120mm.

From the evening of July 10 to July 11, continued rain is expected across Northern Vietnam, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An, with forecasts suggesting between 20-40mm of rain, and isolated areas possibly receiving over 100mm. The heaviest rainfall is anticipated in the late afternoon, evening, and early morning hours.

Residents in mountainous areas are particularly urged to be vigilant about the risk of flash floods and landslides. Urban areas may also face localized flooding due to prolonged heavy rain. The weather forecast for July 11 indicates that Hanoi will experience cloudy skies with intermittent rain, including possible thunderstorms. Rainfall is expected to be concentrated in the late afternoon and evening, with temperatures ranging from 27-34 degrees Celsius.

In addition to heavy rain, the meteorological agency has warned of potential thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds. Residents are advised to avoid traveling through flooded areas and to refrain from seeking shelter under trees or unstable structures during storms.

As the weather continues to evolve, the public is encouraged to stay updated on forecasts and take necessary precautions to ensure safety during this rainy season.
