On July 6, 2026, the Ministry of Public Security's Group 7 convened a meeting in Dong Thap Province to assess the progress of the 'For National Security' movement during the first half of the year. Major General Lam Phuoc Nguyen, the Director of Dong Thap Police, presided over the meeting.

Attendees included representatives from the Ministry of Public Security, the Department of Home Affairs of Dong Thap Province, and leaders from various police units across the provinces of Ca Mau, An Giang, Vinh Long, Dong Thap, and Tay Ninh.

The meeting emphasized the action slogan 'Following Uncle Ho's teachings - Renewing thinking, enhancing knowledge - Regular and modern' in conjunction with the 'Three Best' movement. Police units in the group have proactively aligned their operations with political tasks, improved leadership methods, and focused on enhancing the quality of management and operations to ensure flexibility and appropriateness to local conditions.

Efforts were made to promptly address security-related issues at the grassroots level. The police focused on gathering intelligence and forecasting situations, implementing measures to ensure political security, and safeguarding the activities of Party and State leaders, as well as significant political, cultural, and social events.

Police units in the group successfully reduced social order crimes by 25.2%. They also worked to prevent, detect, and combat crimes related to high technology, environmental offenses, and drug-related crimes. Traffic accidents across the five provinces decreased compared to the same period in 2025, and incidents of fire and explosion also saw a reduction.

Moreover, the police have accelerated administrative reforms, digital transformation, and the application of science and technology in their operations. They have strengthened state management in the digital environment from provincial to grassroots levels, ensuring smooth connectivity among agencies within the political system and effectively utilizing digital resources.

In line with the 'Year of Grassroots Officials' initiative, police units have continued to reorganize and delegate responsibilities within their structures, placing significant emphasis on training and professional development for officers and soldiers.

Major General Lam Phuoc Nguyen concluded the meeting by expressing hopes that the units within the group will continue to foster solidarity, high determination, and actively share effective practices and exemplary models to achieve the remaining targets for 2026. This effort is crucial for maintaining security and order, supporting economic, social, and diplomatic development in their respective localities.
