The incident reportedly occurred on June 30, 2026, when a group of approximately 50 guests from Phu Tho checked into the hotel. The driver, Quang Anh, was initially assigned a room on the seventh floor but requested a different room due to poor Wi-Fi connectivity. When the hotel staff informed him that changing rooms was not possible, a dispute ensued.
In the video that circulated widely on social media, the hotel employee can be seen confronting the driver, leading to accusations of the employee trying to extract compensation unfairly. In response to the backlash, Thắng stated that the incident was unexpected and stemmed from a misunderstanding. He emphasized that he had met with the driver to resolve the issue amicably and that both parties had agreed to move forward without further conflict.
Thắng expressed regret over the incident, which he described as a first for his hotel after 12 years in the tourism industry. He conveyed his commitment to improving the hotel's operations and ensuring better communication with guests and drivers in the future. The local authorities, including the Hoang Hoa People's Committee, have initiated an investigation into the matter, acknowledging the negative impact this incident has had on the area's reputation.
In his closing remarks, Thắng appealed to the public for understanding and urged the community to give the hotel a chance to rectify its shortcomings. He reiterated his sincere apologies and promised to enhance service quality moving forward.
