Phu Tho Province Concludes Third Meeting of the XX Legislature

The Third Meeting of the XX Legislature of Phu Tho Province concluded on June 30, 2026, after two days of serious discussions and responsibilities. During the meeting, Tran Duy Dong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that Phu Tho has emerged as a "bright spot" on the national growth map despite ongoing global and domestic economic challenges.

Official statistics from the General Statistics Office indicated that the province's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) grew by 9.15% in the first quarter and surged to 10.95% in the second quarter of 2026. Overall, the GRDP for the first half of the year reached 10.18%, placing Phu Tho seventh nationwide and first in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region. This performance clearly demonstrates that Phu Tho has surpassed the government's targets and is on track with its growth scenario.

Furthermore, the province's economic management quality has been recognized, with Phu Tho ranking among the top five localities for excellent economic governance in 2025. It also ranked second nationwide for land access indicators and is a leader in creating supportive policies for businesses.

In his address, Chairman Dong proposed essential solutions for four key issues. To enhance public investment disbursement, the province will link disbursement results with the performance evaluation of leaders. It will also decisively transfer funds from delayed projects, replace weak contractors, and implement a streamlined processing mechanism.

Phu Tho aims to complete 10,000 social housing units in 2026, with 24 projects currently underway and plans to break ground on 12 more by the end of the year. To expedite social housing projects, the province will implement a "green lane" mechanism to reduce legal procedure times by 50% and allocate 100 billion VND through the Social Policy Bank to assist residents in purchasing homes.

To address land procedure bottlenecks, the province will launch a campaign titled "180 Days and Nights" to build a land database from July 1 to December 31, 2026. It will also tighten regulations, eliminate land brokers, and propose a pilot model for land registration offices at the communal level to better serve the public.

During the meeting, representatives voted on 35 important resolutions, providing a solid legal framework to drive the province's socio-economic development in the coming period.

In closing remarks, Bui Duc Hinh, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, highlighted the successful conclusion of the meeting, which was marked by high consensus in passing specialized resolutions that align with the Party's policies and the state's directives.

To ensure the resolutions are implemented effectively, the Chairman called on the Provincial People's Committee and relevant sectors to focus on achieving a growth target of 11% for the year. This includes expediting public investment disbursement, completing land clearance, and fulfilling the social housing plan for 2026. The province will also prioritize digital transformation and effectively operate key projects to attract investment and resolve outstanding issues.

Additionally, the province will implement policies to attract talent, support local officials, and ensure proper compensation for community health workers. There will be a strong emphasis on cultural heritage preservation and maintaining security and defense, alongside strict management of resources and finances.

Overall, the meeting underscored the determination of Phu Tho Province to foster growth and improve governance in the face of challenges.
