CAAV to increase flight frequency at Tan Son Nhat airport

HCMC – The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has decided to increase aircraft movements at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport to meet the rising travel demand during the April 30-May 1 holiday and summer vacation.

Tan Son Nhat will have an additional 26 slots per day from April 28 to May 3 and from June 1 to August 15.

With this increase in slots, Vietnamese carriers will provide an additional 4,500-5,000 seats per day, meeting the demand from passengers during peak periods.

CAAV also required airlines to operate flights on time and reduce flight delays and cancellations.

To meet the travel demand during the Reunification Day (April 30)-International Labor Day (May 1) holiday, Vietnam Airlines and Vietnam Air Services Company (Vasco) will provide nearly 551,000 seats, equivalent to nearly 2,800 flights, on domestic routes from April 26 to May 5.

These two Vietnamese carriers will focus on increasing flights on domestic routes, including routes to and from Hanoi, HCMC, Hue, Danang, Quy Nhon, Cam Ranh, Dalat and Phu Quoc, to boost tourism.
