Vietnamese wood exporters grapple with waning demand

As Australia applies strict standards on certification, product quality and exporting processes, Vietnamese exporters should focus on product quality instead of prices, keep up with customers’ demands and build a brand name for the products.
According to statistics of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, Vietnam’s 2022 exports of interior wooden furnishing items for offices reached US$370.3 million, declining 15.9% against 2021.
Of which, the U.S. was the biggest importer of Vietnamese-made wood products for the office at US$225.4 million, followed by Japan at US$67.7 million and China at US$15.9 million.
